Slab

The hard plastic protective case that a grading company seals a card in after evaluation. The slab displays the card's grade, certification number, and other identifying information. Slabs protect cards from physical damage and environmental exposure while providing authenticated condition verification. The term is used colloquially — 'slabbing a card' means sending it for grading.
Example
A PSA slab with a grade of 10 Gem Mint
