RC (Rookie Card)

A player's first officially licensed trading card, typically released during their first professional season. Rookie cards are the most sought-after cards in sports collecting because they represent the earliest opportunity to own a card of a future star. They are usually marked with an 'RC' logo on modern releases. The value of a rookie card is heavily tied to the player's career trajectory — a breakout season can send prices skyrocketing.
