Parallel
A version of a base or insert card with a different color, finish, or numbering. Parallels share the same photo and design as the original but are distinguished by borders, backgrounds, or holographic effects. They exist in a hierarchy of rarity — from common refractors to one-of-one superfractors. Parallels are the backbone of the modern card hobby and drive much of the secondary market activity.
